Roosevelt Row in Phoenix

August 30, 2019

If you’re looking for something to do in Phoenix, there are a whole host of options for you to chose from. We thought we’d at least nudge you in the direction, while you’re staying at Desert’s Edge RV Resort, toward Roosevelt’s Row in Phoenix. It is a little art and culture to add to your traveling plans.

Roosevelt Row in Phoenix

While long a historic part of Phoenix, Roosevelt Row fell on hard times in the 1970s. However, by the late 1990s it was revitalized and is now a dynamic part of downtown Phoenix.

Roosevelt Row is a cool walkable arts district in downtown Phoenix. Here you can see impressive murals, galleries with rotating exhibitions, awesome local restaurants, and snazzy boutiques. This district connects to historic neighborhoods like Garfield, Evans Churchill, and Roosevelt.

What to Do

As you’d expect, the area is host to a variety of museums that you can explore, boutiques where you can purchase that amazing find, and restaurants to soothe your culinary cravings. Fridays are an amazing time to head over there. First Fridays involve self-guided art walks. The third Friday of each month showcases exhibition openings, and the Fridays in between offer performances and artist spotlights.

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience, you’ve got plenty to choose from, but you might find The Breadfruit interesting because it is modern Jamaican cuisine, not something that you’ll often find in other places.
